Established in 1980 as the philanthropic arm of the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), the FSMB Foundation funds and supports research and education initiatives that advance best practices in medical regulation and strengthen the safety and quality of health care. At the heart of the Foundation’s mission is its focus on improving the long-term effectiveness and viability of the nation’s state medical board system as a means of achieving safer, higher quality health care. The Foundation is supported by a generous seed endowment from the FSMB, but it operates as a separate 501c3 organization.

Educational Initiatives: Physician Sexual Misconduct Training Video
In a collaborative effort with the Administrators in Medicine (AIM) Foundation and FSMB, the FSMB Foundation is producing a training video that addresses the critical issue of physician-patient interactions. This educational resource aims to raise awareness about physician sexual misconduct and will be available by early 2025 for state medical boards and educators.
